I would like to know how many of these Republican Gov. who are trying to break the unions in order to balance the budgits in their states have cut their own salaries. I also think the Congress should start by cutting their salaries too. They are all overpaid.

Comment by gaywad 03/01/2011 @ 11:43 AMWhat about a poster or text, something about “To those STRIKERS unhappy with their JOBS” that is directed at people who are on strike and supporting the occupation/are ostensibly against austerity, but actually hate their jobs and would rather do something completely different if they felt strong enough. I’m not out there, so I don’t have the knowledge or understanding of the context to do it myself, but I’d imagine if I was there, I would be both incredibly inspired by the sudden, widespread increase in activity–the opening up of possibilities–but also incredibly frustrated and disappointed that so much attention is directed at the center of power in the state and that folks seem so hung up on democracy. Perhaps this text/poster could also give a brief criticism of democracy itself, and focus, on one hand, on reclaiming one’s life from work and, on the other, on not allowing others to make decisions on one’s behalf.
Just an idea. If something like this is already in existence, I’d be interested in seeing/reading it.

Using force, or violence, to coerce fellow employees and students into adopting your ideological posture, however, is remarkably similar to Walker’s use of force, or violence, to coerce the citizens of Wisconsin into adopting his. There are better ways to help others think critically and ethically about the political situation in Wisconsin than by reiterating the politics you intend to resist.
